Activities at the Madrid Book Fair in the Maphre Children's Pavilion

The Madrid Book Fair, one of the cultural events of greater acceptance in our geography. It will be held at the Retiro Park, from May 29 to June 14, and, as usual, it will be the point of presentation of numerous editorial news, including those designed for children. This year the Maphre Foundation expand your presence with a Children's Pavilion in which numerous activities designed for children will be carried out and that will foster the institution's ideology: social integration and coexistence values.

It is presented with a double objective: to promote the love for books among the little ones and to contribute to integrating children with disabilities into society.

The pavilion has been designed without architectural barriers and there you can enjoy fun music, magic and storytelling workshops, among others, as well as activities related to literature and culture, which will serve to convey to all children the importance of values ​​such as friendship, solidarity and tolerance.

Below I detail each workshop, so you can choose the one that best suits your children's preferences.

He story inventor It is an oral narrative by Ana García Castellanos that aims to enjoy the stories, develop the ability of understanding, creative and emotional children, knowledge of themselves and others. Expand your vocabulary and arouse your interest in reading.

The princess loved making collections: of butterflies, of dolls. Then he ordered them, from the most important to the least important. Once he decided to collect words. But what is the most important word? Neither the king, nor the queen nor the gardener nor the cook agreed. Finally, the jester came to the princess's help. And thanks to his ingenuity, this spectacle is built: the words of the jester are written on cards, which the children choose ... From them, a whole collection of unprecedented stories emerges.

Jean Pierre the pirate It is a Guiñol theater made by the company Pim, pum, pam that aims to convey the ideas of the value of friendship and self-improvement.

Jean Pierre wants to become a good person and marine animals will help him, but the evil devil will try to change his mind.

The magic pencil It will be led by Gustavo Otero and in it the children will perform a collective monster in the manner of the surrealists. The objectives of the workshop are to encourage imagination, develop manual motor skills and collective participation. Creation, and animation for reading.

The workshop begins with a brief performance of the monitor, commenting on his activity as an illustrator of books and telling them the secret of the cartoonists, and their resemblance to the magicians making drawings and magic games. Then together we will make a collective monster, they put their heads and monitor their hands.

Create a bite page It is a manual workshop led by Patricia Garrido in which children will create a bookmark from a model that they will have to cut and color.

Comic Magic , also directed by Gustavo Otero is a workshop in which children will make a collective and giant comic, thus promoting their manual capacity and collective participation.

Three books to save Don Quixote It is a play by Guiñol and actors by Pim, pum, pam that, in addition to encouraging reading, transmits values ​​such as friendship or honesty.
