It really doesn't take much to encourage children to read or listen to stories, because the books hide so much magic and so many adventures that it is difficult not to fall into their paper networks. But if that magic is added to the "help" of one of his most beloved characters, success is assured.
The popular cartoon character, Peppa Pig, will be these days in the Circle of Fine Arts in Madrid to celebrate Book Day. Peppa Pig will attend tomorrow's opening ceremony of the Quijote Continuous Reading and on Saturday will be in a storyteller and reading and painting workshop.
In this way Peppa, accompanied by small readers, joins the traditional tribute to the books, which we have already seen in many of his episodes, since the pig and his family like them very much.
On Thursday, April 23, Peppa will be in the Hall of the Columns, accompanied by small followers who can be photographed with her (between 5.15 p.m. and 5.45 p.m.).
On Saturday, April 25, Peppa will participate in a reading and painting workshop, in which his stories will be performed with puppets and children's games (Sala Ramón Gómez de la Serna, from 11:30). Children can also greet and photograph with Peppa.
We have already spoken to you on other occasions of the Peppa Pig series, in which values and learning go hand in hand, helping children understand a world in which family and friends are important, a world in which there are the differences and these are enriching.
Therefore I think it's great that Peppa Pig is the "ambassador" of books and reading, attracting the little ones to a fun activity to share with parents, we, who, let's not forget, are their examples. Any opportunity is good to "spread" our passion for books.
Within the promotion of reading, the activity of telling stories is paramount, as well as the relationship between books and drawings or plastic arts (painting, photography ...). In the meeting with Peppa Pig next Saturday, these activities are combined in the storytelling session and in the workshops, offering a great frame to fall in love, to fall in love with books.
