When Barbie became pregnant of what would be her second child, nobody knew exactly what would happen. His first daughter was born in the hospital and the people around him knew that I didn't keep a good memory of it, despite its fame and money they closed an entire plant for her, so that everything went well.
"I'm thinking of giving birth at home with a midwife", they say they ever heard him say. And it is known that her friends tried to dissuade her by telling her that she could get them to close the floor of a hospital, the one she wanted, and be able to give birth again with anesthesia, perhaps by caesarean section, to not notice anything. He was not heard more about the subject and now everyone knows what happened thanks to this photo shoot: Barbie decided to give birth at home, with the help of a midwife, accompanied by Ken and his daughter.
How it all happened
At least this is how the story was told by photographer Katie Moore, who was lucky enough to be present at this birth from the first contractions until the moment the whole family enjoys the newborn in bed.
As Moore explains in Inhabitots, agreed to take the photos of Barbie because she is a strong woman. She did not mind knowing that there are people who hate her, just as there are people who love her, she has always been clear that she is a woman who has done great things and when she knew she was going to give birth at home and that she had thought in it to take the photos, he agreed immediately because it would be a great opportunity to spread that decision, that strength and that determination.
The important thing was not so much that she gave birth at home, but to show that there are women who are already starting to make their decisions as mothers, that they must be the protagonists of their deliveries and they who make the decisions, even in hospitals. It is time for the act of giving birth to become a moment in which the woman feels understood, accompanied, heard, supported and never, ever leaves with the feeling that they have treated her badly, as if a girl, who has not been denied or that everything would have ended differently if another professional had worked that day. Sure that most we didn't expect something like that from BarbieOr that Ken was such a solicitous husband, but the images squander tenderness, love and dedication, and capture a painful moment for Barbie, as it is for all women, but tremendously beautiful and magical.
