Farewell to a saleswoman of El Corte Inglés for unveiling the secret of Santa Claus to a seven-year-old girl

The illusion of children for Christmas is something that some parents try to preserve until they are old enough to discover it for themselves. But there may be malicious, clueless or very clumsy people who spoil everything.

This was the case of an El Corte Inglés saleswoman who just learned that she was fired, among other things, for unveiling the secret of Santa Claus to a seven-year-old girl.

Santa Claus is your mother

The Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC) has endorsed the dismissal of an employee of El Corte Inglés in Tenerife for continuing disrespect for their bosses and colleagues and for several cases of poor customer service, such as, to reveal to a girl that Santa Claus was her mother.

It happened in December 2015 when the girl walked by her parents through the mall and stopped in the jewelry section, where the saleswoman worked. The mother looked at a watch to give the father as a Christmas gift and the saleswoman decided to act on her own telling the girl to take the father to the perfumery so that the mother could buy the watch.

As expected, the girl was "desolate", and the parents raised the complaint to the person in charge of the sector who logically felt "ashamed" of the situation.

Unprofessional conduct

It was not the only fault of the saleswoman. Apparently accumulated several complaints, serious offenses and penalties for maintaining a "negative attitude, passive, little diligent and far from professionalism", as the sentence dictates. Even on one occasion he was about to hurt a child by throwing the scissors on the counter. He had been working in department stores for ten years and intended to "get a paid layoff."

The Court understands that this attitude is not isolated, and after being suspended from employment and salary and persisting in it, it 'forces' the company to activate the dismissal for "bankruptcy" of the trust.

The decision to keep the secret of Christmas towards children It is exclusive to parents and no one should interfere by revealing it., much less if there is bad faith on top.
