The parents of Labañou (A Coruña), have a service provided by the Fifth District Community Association (ASCODI) called Respiro. It is intended for families who have children aged between six months and three years and who, although the mother does not work, need some free time to perform some personal management.
Currently there are many couples who turn to the grandparents of children to attend them while they have to go shopping, the bank, the doctor, etc., but not everyone has that fortune. For this reason, this Association offers a professional service for free during a concerted time period with a maximum of two hours. It will only be necessary to call the center before going to leave the child to request the “respite”.
While the children wait for their mother to make their personal efforts, she will share with other children various toys, music or other activities that will make her have a pleasant time.
Without a doubt, it is a great initiative that has the support of the City Council and we repeat, that many others should imitate.
