Fish consumption in children's canteens is insufficient

A study carried out by the FROM (the Fund for the Regulation and Organization of the Market of Fisheries Products and Marine Crops) shows a very significant fact that we hope can be solved for the next school season, apparently fish consumption in children's canteens is insufficient.

In principle, the daily children's diet of school canteens does not incorporate the amount of fish recommended by nutritionists, this has been the main reason to promote again a campaign aimed at parents, educators, children, etc., with the purpose of introducing the weekly diet three servings of fish at least. Fish is a great food that provides very beneficial nutrients for child development, among some of the characteristics that we can mention of this food is its great variety or versatility in the preparations, it is suitable for all ages, its protein content outlines it As a food capable of providing a third of the amount of protein nutrients that the body needs daily, it is an effective food to prevent certain cardiovascular diseases, low fat, very easy assimilation ... we could finally name virtues.

Despite all the above, fish consumption remains poor, not only in schools, but also in homes. As for the issue of school canteens, a question addresses us, do the canteens have no nutritionist advisors or tables indicating what food the children need?

Fish should be a food that is very present in the children's diet, perhaps the price that it sometimes presents is the main reason for it not to be a more regularly consumed food, will the FROM have taken this aspect into account?
