On some occasions in Babies and more we have talked about the importance of the protection of minors on the Internet, some examples are post Internet, a controlled danger for children or How to control what your child does on the Internet. We have also talked about methods to protect children from the dangers of the internet, with parental control programs or with books such as Hacker Techniques for parents.
Well, today we have known a new initiative embodied by Microsoft and the AEP (Spanish Association of Pediatrics), have presented a new program called Windows Live OneCare Protection which will ensure the protection of the little ones in the network.
More and more users are added to the network and many are children, some may begin too soon to surf the internet, something that is not recommended especially if they are alone. This new tool promises to be very effective and can be used in three age categories established within the program, up to 10 years, from 11 to 14 years old and from 15 to 18 years old, as protection is reduced in age. The greatest protection is established in the first stage. The new software will allow, among other things, parents to know perfectly who their children can communicate with or what pages they visit.
Surely more than one parent has been amazed at how quickly their children can learn, especially with the use of new technologies, therefore, these types of protections could be considered obliged to safeguard the little ones from everything that is counterproductive.
