Hearts against leukemia

Today I am talking about a beautiful initiative that I would like to share. The Josep Carreras Foundation wants to celebrate this Christmas by getting "hearts against leukemia" to bring some hope to patients suffering from this disease. It is a very simple proposal: that people make a heart of origami and send a photo to the web they have enabled, along with a message of encouragement and hope for leukemia patients.

The blog is called "Hearts against leukemia" and there every day all the hearts and messages they receive are added. Hopefully many more hearts will arrive and especially that they will reach the sick, especially children for whom Christmas will have a darker tone than usual.

We remember that the Josep Carreras Foundation is dedicated to the fight against leukemia through four areas of activity: the search for voluntary bone marrow donors for patients who do not have a donor among their family members; scientific research; support for the improvement of hospital infrastructures and social services for patients.

If we want to send our hearts against leukemia, here we have the instructions to achieve a perfect origami, step by step, some hearts that can be personalized with our name or the message we want. Then we take a picture with the heart, or the heart alone, and send it with our message to the address [email protected]. A nice way to congratulate Christmas.

I am quite clumsy, and I think that with a simpler paper heart may suffice. The fact is that messages of hope and support reach the sick thanks to these hearts against leukemia.
