Mothers by day: professionals who take care of the child in their homes

An alternative to nursery school for parents who cannot take care of their children during the workday are the mothers by day, professionals who take care of the child in their homes.

Aware that the best place for a child under three years of age is a home, the Mothers Day Association proposes a child care, education and care service by women with degrees in Social Education or Psychology. They offer their homes specially adapted, safe and equipped with everything necessary for the care of children.

The groups are small, with a maximum of 3 or 4 children, since attention in young children must be very personalized, and with the intention of promoting a family and home environment.

It is a resource more related to the emotional needs of each child, with the same schedules and routines that they have at home, respecting their own rhythms and concerns.

As an advantage, I see the family environment, that the child can feel more secure and protected, a more individualized dedication and less spread of disease.

However, although it may be that on a lower level, you will suffer the stress of separation and of adapting to a new space and new faces, just as if you were in a nursery school.

On the other hand, it is a solution that is not available to any pocket. Leaving the child in the care of a mother by day for eight hours can cost around 500 euros per month.

The interesting thing is that it is an option, little known, that can be very valid as an alternative to a nursery school when parents or other relatives can not take care of children.
