A security door for the ladder made with a pallet

Our Decoesfera partners teach us a security door for the ladder made with a pallet, to avoid falls when there are small children.

But I think I'm going to have to oppose them about it being a good idea. It is ingenious to manufacture it by recycling a pallet ourselves, but I don't see the idea of placing it as a safety barrier as good.

For starters, the material is much more dangerous than the security fences that we can buy at a baby goods store. If the child hits the pallet it could be damaged, it is a very hard wood. In addition to being heavy, it must be reinforced very well to the wall. Instead, there are more flexible and lightweight materials.

On the other hand, and it is a personal opinion, I think that as in the case of the vase if we remove it or teach it not to touch it, it is safer to teach children to go up and down the stairs from an early age.

At home we have a ladder, three girls and I have never put a safety barrier. When I saw them that they would be able, more or less in the time they learn to walk, I taught them to lower them on their backs. To raise them they learned alone, always watched by me.

It is true that accidents happen, but they can also happen with the fence. I know children with fingers caught in the door, children who have hit the fence when they fall, or even children who have been harmed by trying to jump it, like a kind of fleeing babies.

If there are older children they can leave it open carelessly with greater danger to the baby. Therefore, I preferred to check that they did not go up and down before knowing and teach them how to do it when I thought they were ready. I am not advising you, do not stop putting a fence if it leaves you calmer. How do you solve stairs security at home?
