Free Children's Visual Health Campaign to detect amblyopia

Like last year, a new campaign promoted by the Alain Afflelou Foundation in collaboration with other entities, trying to combat one of the problems present in childhood, the lazy eye, is about Children's Visual Health Campaign. The vague eye or amblyopia is especially characterized by the loss of vision in an eye as it was not used during childhood.

It is essential to correct this problem preferably before the child who suffers it turns 7, since this is the age at which the vision matures and no treatment can be applied. For this reason the campaign is really interesting for the care of children's vision.

The revisions will be made to children aged between 5 and 7 years free of charge and in addition if there is a visual problem, the foundation will be responsible for providing the child with the corresponding glasses with graduated vision. Again, parents are advised to make periodic checks of the eyes of their children to avoid greater evils in the future, we must bear in mind that a visual problem can lead to blindness.

The lazy eye detected before the age of 6 has practically a 100% guarantee of being solved, after 7 years the percentage drops vertiginously to a low 20%. No more reasons are needed to understand how important it is to go to the ophthalmologist periodically.

Until October 31, all Alain Afflelou opticians will review the vision of the children for free, you can even make an appointment by phone 900 811 170.
