I found a gadget that has caught my attention because I see that today "solutions" can be sold for everything. It is a curious device to prevent thumb suction, so frequent in children and that some parents (and grandparents!) want to avoid at all costs.
It is called Bebe-stop, and it is sold for 15 euros in a pack with 2 sizes and colors.
The manufacturers claim that they do not limit the psychomotor skills of the baby, since the hands are free. Regarding its composition, on the web they indicate that it is "high-tech foam of the highest quality, subjected to tests that guarantee its strict compliance with the rules and directives of the EEC".
Remember that sucking your finger (or several fingers) is a consequence of the innate sucking reflex, which gives the baby, apart from food, a sense of comfort and security, so that, for example, it can help you calm down and fall asleep. Only when this reflex lengthens over time, is it when an anomaly problem can come.
It would be abnormalities in the position, size and shape of the bones of the face, especially the jaws, and could affect the palate or teething. I believe that only in these extreme cases would an action be necessary, and always consulting the specialist.
