Invented languages: let's talk in whale

I propose a very fun activity and that surely children love: we will play invented animal languages and we'll start talking in whale. And we will do it as a teacher to the very nice Dory, the disgraceful little fish in the movie "Finding Nemo."

Already in one of our science experiments workshops with water I invited you to use the whale as a way to learn about the way in which sound is transmitted in different media.

You can recover this exercise but what I propose now is, exactly, speak whale and invent, then, other animal languages.

Each animal has a different physiognomy and, in addition, children usually know well the sounds that each one makes. However, transferring those sounds and aspects to articulated language is an exercise in imagination that will cause them a lot of laughs but it is also educational and even exercises their ability to express themselves.

For a very hot afternoon or a car trip it is a game that will excite children. We will speak in whale the whole family and then, each one, can go proposing other languages of animals. Can you imagine how it will sound to speak in "elephant", in "tigro" or in "raccoon"?
