World Week of Respected Childbirth: Childbirth is Our presents 'The voice of women'

From tomorrow, Monday, and until next May 26, the World Week of Respected Childbirth is celebrated, under the Motto 'Please do not disturb! ... We are in labor'.

El Parto es Nuestro (EPEN) celebrates it with the screening of the documentary 'The voice of women' which will be presented in different parts of Spain and in collaboration with different associations and institutions. This is a documentary made with the participation of the EPEN association, and filmed in the summer of 2011. A video made by women, telling the birth story of other women who decided to "strip their stories to be recorded."

Those who attend this meeting can listen to the recorded testimony of a bouquet of all kinds of stories; as many as women we are: stories of wonderful births, violent deliveries, in public, private hospitals, at home, caesarean sections, vaginal births after caesarean section, etc.

In this agenda you can find information about all the towns and cities of Spain where the documentary will be screened. A debate is planned for after the screening, and in the contact information email addresses are also included to write them previously, since in some places the capacity is reduced, and it may be necessary to register previously.

Entrance is free and open

From EPEN, they thank to the women protagonists of the video, to “De Buenas a primera”, a group of women professionals of the audiovisual with a gender approach, who were in charge of the production of the documentary, editing and editing. And also Sarai Llamas, for the design of this year's campaign logos.

The World Week of Respected Childbirth is an opportunity to know the international opinions on this subject. Since 2011 it is coordinated by the European Network of Childbirth Associations (ENCA) of which El Parto is Our is an active member.
