"Tales to dream a better world", for the respect to the difference

Respect and tolerance towards those who are different is fundamental in any society, and the "Tales to dream a better world" They try precisely to bring this idea to children. It is "Stories for the whole world", to share in equality and to live diversity, as the subtitle says.

This is a material prepared by the Asturian Foundation for care and protection for people with disabilities and / or dependencies (FASAD), which aims to educate girls and boys to develop attitudes of tolerance and respect for difference.

It is a great challenge that involves the whole society, us as parents and also the school, so the stories are accompanied by didactic units to perform in the primary classroom. But although our children are smaller, we have liked the stories themselves, which we can read at any time.

The protagonist of the stories is Betty, Beatriz, a girl with disabilities, who guides children through various concepts related to gender, disability and others values such as solidarity, respect for difference, caring for the environment

This didactic material has been developed within the project "PROMOTION. Local systems of equal opportunities", within the framework of the European EQUAL initiative, and is part of the Line of social inclusion of women with disabilities developed by the FASAD Foundation.
